What are Volunteer Points?

Volunteer Point Policy

The purpose of the Volunteer Point Policy is to help ensure that AYSO Region 148 recruits, trains, certifies and fields enough volunteers setup and conduct our Regional games.

For Divisions 10U through 14U, the schedule for our season is divided in two parts --- the Regional Regular Season and the Playoff Season

In order to be eligible for playoff season play, each team can earn points each week through scheduled volunteer duties, such as field setup, game monitoring, or helping at the admin table or anything else the Regional Board determines as qualifying for Volunteer Points.

6U and 8U divisions

A team must have earned at least 8 Volunteer Points in the 8U, and 6U divisions throughout the regular season.

10U and 12U Divisions

To participate in the Regional single elimination playoff round, a team must have earned at least 10 Volunteer Points in the 12U, 10U, 8U, and 6U divisions throughout the regular season.

14U thru 19U Divisions

14U and up teams are obligated to volunteer in the Core Program during the Regular Season by providing representatives during home games

A schedule will be posted with times for each team to send a representative.

Individual Volunteers may only contribute a total of 5 points per team.

Board Members, Coaches and Team Administrators may only contribute their Volunteer Points to Teams on which they have a child or **close relative playing.

The Region 148 Board will have the final authority to choose a team to represent the Region in any post season tournament in the event of any mitigating circumstances, such as behavior issues with team referees, coaches and parents on the sideline.

What if I cannot make it for a scheduled assignment?

We understand that “things happen”. We do ask you to try and contact us at as soon as possible to make up your points. You can ask another parent on your team if they can show up for you instead.

What if I cannot make it for a scheduled Referee assignment?

We understand that “things happen”. We do ask you to try and contact us at Regional Referee Administrator as soon as possible.
